A big thank you to Persimmon homes for donating £1000 to BKO through their community champions grant scheme.
The money has been provided to help BKO kids enter tournaments. travel and for equipment.
We will be using the money to help all BKO junior members to compete in the upcoming Northampton open on 20th May.
On Sunday we took 10 people to the WAKO GB squad training at Bisham Abbey.
The session ran from 12-4pmand included warm ups, drills and loads of sparring.
With the World championships coming up for kids and the European championships for
Adults there was all to fight for.
It looks like . Maggie, George, Liz, Kat, Rob and Paige are in the final squad this year
Rossi, Adam, Charlotte and Andy E are knocking onthe door though.
The next squad session is in May and is open to all. We are hoping to bring a lot more people along
as the training is excellent even if you are not in the final team.
The junior beginners kickboxing course started last week Tuesday 6-7pm. We got straight into the training and exercisises and and everyone really enjoyed themselves. A couple of the kids stayed for the next kids class and a few also turned up to the Saturday class. The course is £25 and includes all the other kids classes free. There is still plenty of room for new comers to join. Just message me.
Next BKO beginners course starts on Weds 4th April 6-7pm.

We reached the finals of the Basingstoke sports awards in several sections this year. Club of the year, Team of the year, Coach of the year, junior ladies and senior ladies, volunteer coach of the year.
Liz got a very creditable 3rd place in the senior ladies where she was up against many world champions and athletes from Basingstoke.
The Kids team also came in 2nd place in their section.
We all went to teh Appollo hotel for a meal and presentations and had a very nice time.
We will be pushing for top spots next year.
