Northants 2016

14th tournament of the year.

Not a bad day for BKO. We took a small squad to the Nothants open
Robbie fought in the boys inter and the boys Advanced sections Where he had a great two round final. Showing nice movement and jumping kicks He got a Silver.
Maggie fought in the girls inter and girls advanced and got two silvers Using her drawing side kicks to score.
Charlotte narrowly missed out on a trophy losing to the eventual winner by 1 point
Dylan was in the boys +160 and used his speed and blitz to gain a Silver. Then he entered the mens inter and got another silver.
Michelle came 3rd in the Ladies inter and got a Silver in the advanced vets.
Charisse Used her quick hands to take 3rd place in the ladies inter section.
Vin lost out in the open weight But gained silver in the Mens inter. Unfortunately he injured his knee and had to pull out of the other five sections!
Gribbs came back after 6 months out and was rusty but came 4th in the mens advanced and lost out in the vets open weight.
Andy E. Had to take the kids home so he missed his fight :(
Andy P. Had a great fight against Reece Phillips in the open weight which he won. Using his fast reverse blitz he had to dig deep. He lost in the quater finals but then won the mens advanced -85kg section.
Harry contunued his comeback by getting a bronze in the mens +85kg category.
George lost a great fight on sudden death in the open weight division. He then came back and won the mens Advanced -79kg section and 2nd in the mens advanced -85kg pulling off a couple of hard jumping back kicks and a ridge hand that knocked out his opponents.
We did have a team in but this section was scrapped.
On the whole some good performances and improvements today
Well done all.

Kwon British open

VINNIE BECOMES BRITISAH CHAMPION!
BKO's 5th British champ this year. Vinnie won the vets section at The Kwon British championships today. He also got a siver in the mens under 94kg section and had a close fight 8-6 against Rhys Phillips. Well done Vin.

Michelle fought in the ladies section fighting a German that was as big as Vinnie! Michelle got round her legs and scored nicely a couple of times, but had to settle for 4th place. She then took a silver in the ladies vets. Her fighting is going from strength to strength now and her faking and timing gave all her opponents problems.
