Thanks to kerry for organising theis camping trip for the club to the New Forest water park near Ringwood.
The site has a "wipeout" style obstacle course in the water with loads of inflateables to climb on, Jump off, and not be able to get back up on. We all camped together and cooked around the bbqs and in the evening we had a log fire and plenty of drinks and snacks. etc. Played games of swing ball and football, Strummed guitars and basically chilled out
On the Saturday we had a little training session with the focus pads and started to put some meore unusual techniques and combinations together. EG: Cartwheel, Axe Kick, forward roll, spin kick. Or 12 fast spinning kicks then try to blitz the pads.
On Saturday we all donned wet suits and took to the assault course for an hour which was great fun and exhausting. Lots of challenging obstacles to negotiate and slides, Jumps and a spring board type thing.
Sunday saw Mitch and Martin take to the water again to try out the wakeboard zip line and very good they were too. Syaing up and keeping their balance as they were pulled along cheered by us and the massive carp that hung around waiting for the kids to give them snacks
Well done Charlotte who gained a silver in the Cimac Euro junior cup. This tournament attracts the best under 16s from around the country. Charlotte forught through several rounds beating fighters who she had lost to before. In reaching the final Charlotte met the Current WAKO world champion. A girl who is bigger and older that her. After a very close fight Chalotte had to settle for silver losing 2-1. A graeat effort and a demonstratiuon of how Charlotte's attitude and ability is improving all the time.
Great and long day at the Northants open yesterday. We went from taking over 20 fighters down to 12 after illness and injury came on board! A lot of our fighters were either first time or returning after a lay off etc, but still all gave a great account of themselves and I am so proud of how we battled and supported each other

Chantelle's first tournament. Took a little time to figure it out, but was soon scoring with blitzes.
Joe was unlucky not to get to the final with his fast attacking style.
Andy went on the attack and improved that focus. scored with two nice hook kicks.
Rob had good speed and was unlucky not to progress to the final. More reverse to the body. :)
We finally made the paper!!!
Took 3 months to get in, but we must be grateful that we receive the coverage. Well done Nicolle for winning the Irish open.
We run 12 classes a week have 150 members with 60 competing in 30 tournaments a year including many internationals, win loads of big championships, British, European, Dublin etc. Have loads seminars a year with top proponents of the sport. Have several members representing Britain in the WAKO squad, perform at fetes and charities, I think we deserve more coverage from the local paper? We will keep informing them of our many activities and hope they will realise what we do? :)
Some other articles from the Gazette over the last 3 years.
